Costly Good News

How come good news always seems to cost money?  For example a vacation costs money.  But one (me) could argue that it is worth it to get away and sit on the beach for a week with family.  Totally refreshing.  Another good news is a wedding.  An announcement of engagement is so exciting (most of the time) yet the wedding/reception could cost a small fortune.  How about babies?  Those little boogers can be costly getting here.  Especially if there are struggles getting pregnant.  Then you have to pay for the next 18 years more if there is college.  However to me all of these things are so worth it.  I love vacations.  I love being married.  I love my kids.  Another thing which has yet to happen is a new job for Lee.  If the job offer is not local it means moving.  Which will cost us money.  But it would be good news.  Especially if it means I can stop working full time. Acceptance to grad school was...

Two years already...

Out of the blue sometimes it hits me.  It was two years ago this month I miscarriage. The due date was in October.  I would have had a year and half year old running around here. Sometimes I think about it and think there is no way I could do that again.  18 month old children are so full of energy well mine were.  Which is a good thing.  It means they are healthy and active.  But it is hard because of the constant supervision.    Even though it has been two years I still struggle with certain family members because of that night.  I struggle with the lack of support.  I slid into a dark place and I felt as though I was alone.  People around me would say the dumbest things.  All I could think was really?  Somebody trying to help ( I think) said something that still to this day I found so clueless that it bothers me still.  There were people who I thought should have been there but never were.  But those same peop...

Waiting...

Waiting is not something I do well.  Or even pretend to do well.  I got a letter today stating I am cleared for graduation ceremonies on May 7th.  Although it may be a good six months before I get my diploma.  I have asked for special consideration.  I still haven't gotten a response to my email.  Okay so I send it yesterday. I know the professors meet on Mondays so it could be a full week before I get a response.  Really it won't matter for the next few months anyway.  Lee is back in Utah next week and I am hoping the kids and I can go.  If not then the kids and I will be chilling at home.  I am on call on Wednesday so if I can't get it switched then I am going to stay home and hope my parent's aren't at their cabin if I get called out.  I really shouldn't complain.  I haven't been on call since December.  Although Utah is not where I would live given the choice if it means more time with the kids I would do it.  ...

Surgery and Rescheduling Summer

Okay things have been insane around here.  A week ago yesterday we went to meet with the back surgeon he suggested Lee needed surgery.  Lee;s  hernia had blown to pieces and he was quickly losing weakness in his leg..  It looked really cool on the MRI.  The doctor was AMAZING.  18 hours after we met with the surgeon Lee was on the operating table.  Lee was released from the hospital that day and has been walking around.  The walking is huge he literally wasn't able to do that for nearly three weeks.  Also the doctor feels confident that he was able to cure the ongoing back pain Lee has had for nearly a decade.  Lee was suppose to leave on his annual bike trip last week and that has been rescheduled for October.  We should be leaving a week from tomorrow for Bear Lake but that is out as well.  I am leaving tomorrow for four days for a work trip and I am leaving Lee and the kids in the very capable hands of my parents.  Thin...
