Easter 2013

Trying to decide if I should post what I am really thinking or keep this a happy Easter post.  Woke up and the kids saw their Easter baskets.  This is the first year we have done baskets and I think it went well.  Kids got a few things they needed and a few they didn't.  Then off to church.  I got a few pics before church and this is the result Well...Let's back up.  So we did an egg hunt inside the house because it was too late at night last night when I got the eggs done.  So the kids looked for eggs before it was time to get ready for church Then we got ready for church.  It was fast and testimony meeting. For the most part our ward does really well with following the standard set by the first presidency.  Then when we got home I wanted some pictures taken.  So this is what the result of that was. Then the kids finished their egg hunt.  Lee went over to my parents to fix their stove and we joined him after Andrew woke up from his nap.  We had dinner wit

This weekend changes...

I was telling Lee that I can only deal with one crisis at a time.  This week it was Andrew, next week Dad.   After that maybe work.  Today was going to a work in the garden day but we have decided to go over to my parents house and clean.  My mom fell off a ladder at their cabin and while there is no broken bones she is pretty sore and so we are going to go make sure they have a clean house when they get home.  Our taxes still aren't done and at this point I am thinking of asking for an extension.  I think we are missing stuff at this point there is so much going on I am not sure I have to time and energy to find it all in the next few weeks.  I loved having my friend here last weekend.  She took Andrew Saturday night so we could sleep.  The in-laws were here Saturday and we hung out with my parents for a while after I got back from the airport.  I miss my friend.  She may be moving farther away to Arizona and although I know that this is the best thing for her and her family i

I wrote this last week...Not sure why I never published it

We have started working on gardening.  Not sure if I mentioned it but after three summers in graduate school and one being pregnant our garden has suffered.  I am ripping out the flower beds in the front and starting over.  It will be a ton of work but worth it.  We have also decided on grape vines, blueberries and some more blackberries. I am also considering ordering a lemon tree.  It appears to do well indoors if you know what you are doing. Not sure if I can get Lee to agree but we will see. Soccer officially starts on Tuesday which means scout weeks Jake will have something to going on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So I gave up something which I may blog about later.  It has been a struggle for sure but it has been freeing as well. We finally got a ceiling fan.  We  bought it Friday night and Lee installed it today.  Now on to the oven.  My parents offered to chip in on the oven.  I tried to explain to my dad that it wasn't that we didn't have the money but tha

MS Fundraising

My BFF has MS a horrible evil disease that will not only kill her but also make the last few years of her life a living Hell. You can't wish it away you can't pretend that it is something that it isn't. All of this to say that it is interesting to see how different people handle different things. My friend doesn't support the find raising or MS Awareness Week. It just hit me today that she believes that these fundraisers are to make pharmaceutical companies wealthier. Another friend whose husband has MS does a ton of fundraising this time of year. Who is right or is wrong? I don't know. This is the first year I am going to do some fundraising and do the MS walk. It is crazy and sad to me.

Annoyance...

So I deleted several friends off Facebook today.  I guess you could say some Spring Cleaning.  I also denied two people's request to be my friend that had been hanging out in limbo.  Just because you are my deceased Mother In Law's cousin does not mean I am going to add you to my friend's list on Face Book.  Also if you are under the age of 13 and shouldn't have an account anyway I am probably going to deny you as well.  Although I have made a few exceptions.  So I then decided to start deleting blogs I had been following where people haven't posted in a while.  One blog it was 2009 since the last time they posted.  It is a pain to get the blogs off the side of my blog.  I have to sign in what seems like 20 different places in order to get it to work.  That my friends is an exaggeration.   I am only half way through the ones I want to delete and now that is past midnight I have given up.  Yes I know first world problems,  but at this point those are the only one

Some Saturday Silly Sassiness

As my sixth batch of wash is drying.  For the record the other five have been folded and put away.  I am going to write.  Because Lee is preparing for his talk tomorrow and if I turned on the TV I would probably distract him.  Today we stayed home all day.  Well me and the kids did.  Lee went to our neighbor's house to help with building a box, two boxes actually.  He is hoping to get some money out of the help but I don't think it will be much.  Spring cleaning is still very much in full swing. We are cleaning out closets and I need to go through the toy box as well.    Victoria informed me today that she doesn't have any t-shirts thanks to growing and cleaning out her dresser..  So next week I think I am going to have to do some shopping for summer clothes.  With going to the beach this year we want all the kids to have two swimming suits and at this point they each have one.  Last year we wait too long to buy a swimming suit for Victoria and I struggled to find an ap

Weirdness in Fasting

So weird s tory.... On Sunday I was fasting abou t something.  T h ere a re some changes that I need to make in my life and I was fasting ab out that.  Then it hit me.  Somethin g TOTALLY unrelated to what I was fasting ab out sma cked m e in t he face.  Out of the blue the spirit told me s omething so strongly and so suddenly that it honestly took me a moment to regain my thought process.  Of course Lee was out of town so there was nobody to discuss my randomness with.   Funny story...My BFF text me today and told me that the missionaries stopped by her house and her husband who was out side told them they weren't interested.  M y frien d told him that he should have let them in that she had dishes that needed to be do ne.  I have told her several times that missionaries need to do service and she of all people needs it.   Of all the things I have done wrong in my life.  I feel this friend ship is one of the right thing s I have done.  I am n ot sure they will ever become

Cleaning or Gardening or not

I was going to write a post about how the kids were out clearing the the flower beds. Which they were.  But when I went outside to check on them.  Victoria was cutting back the irises and Jake was running around the yard with the neighbor shooting nerf guns.  We opened the windows and since they currently don't have screens on them the kids are using them for a door.  We did get quite a bit of cleaning done today.  I got five batches of wash done and came up with a laundry schedule.  I have one for a while but today I posted it in the laundry room.   Lee didn't leave until yesterday morning which was nice to have him around an extra night. He should be home tomorrow before the kids are in bed. I have great plans for the garden/yard this year.  I want to get some blueberry bushes and another blackberry as well as some grapes.  I kept putting things off thinking we may move but we are still here.  I also want a fruit tree or two.  But we are going to have to wait a few mont
