The Six of Us

Over the weekend Lee and I went to Salt Lake for our anniversary.  We went to conference, out to eat and spent hours wandering around the city.  It was nice to check out of parenthood for a few days and just be a couple.  Over dinner we talked about Lee's new job and how much work it was going to be and extra time away from home as well as more stress. It all came down to me doing more around the house. I need to step it up at home if Lee is going to step it up in his career.  Which means dinners need to be done and the house needs to be clean.  Week one was a success.  I tried to limit my phone calls to Lee at work and just deal with stuff on my own.  I have had dinner on the table every night. I have been basically a home manager which I have taken serious before but this summer with all the kids at home I lost focus.  Now I am back to managing a home.  I feel so much more goal focused and more content when I have a clear plan.  I am far more then just a stay at home parent. 

As I try and wrap my brain around conference I can’t help but feel as though the church wants to silence women.  That our voices don’t matter.  We aren’t worth hearing from.  We are losing strong women in the church because they are feeling less then.  Something must change.  We must allow women to start having voices and having those voices heard.
