The Six of Us

I almost dropped Jake off for practice Nd then went to Target I am looking for an ice pack an Fred Meyer didn't have them. But the pain in my leg was more then I could handle. I am glad we stayed.Victoria found a little girl to play with and Andrew found rocks to throw and I was able to do some very painful stretches. Sitting is painful so laying in the grass is nice. Jake is the youngest kid on the team. One of the kids was talking about middle school. Several of the boys played on the team played All Stars over the summer. Really Jake is way out of his league but he is improving and seems to be enjoying it Dance starts next Monday and Victoria will be pushed. Hopefully not too far. One day Andrew will walk. :) he is my slowest walker. We wait a few months until we stress and by we mean me. Andrew is learning to sign and was in nursery on Sunday and loved singing time. Lee is working way too much and trying to learn his job. But I am so grateful for the job ...

I did something super dumb today.  One of those things where you walk away thinking..Why did I do that?  Somebody (me) could have really gotten hurt.  It seemed like such a good idea at the time.  Maybe if we would have gotten a second opinion then things would have turned out much differently.  Maybe they would have turned out worse.  After that experience I am more certain then  ever I need to graduate and find a different job.  I learned today that if a 15 year old boy tries to kick out a back window of a car he can in fact jam the door into the driver's door so the driver's door no longer opens.  I am sure that Management is going to be super happy about that.  We did get to see Victoria dance class today.  We only get to go three times a year.  She is doing the cutest dance for the recital.  I am getting excited to see her on stage.  Her teacher is so amazing. Jake has a loose tooth and is getting molars....

Mormons in general don't observe Lent.  I had a discussion about this with some friends and there were several ideas on why this is. The reasons why have nothing to do with the  the point of this blog so I won't into them.. I have never observed Lent before because of my first statement.  But this year  I have decided to take the next 40 days (starting Wednesday) and give up a vice and add a virtue to my life.  It is my hope that after these next forty days I will have a closer relationship with God.  Actually my vice will be replaced with something good and my virtue will be something new.  I haven't decided if I will blog about it or not but I think it will be a nice way to go into Easter.  We have so much going on in our lives that I need to slow down.  I need to realize that life is meant for living not about getting to the next milestone.  It isn't about graduation or Lee finding a job or Victoria starting school or Jake's basebal...

Tonight I was going to go to a church function.  But I ended up sick. Jake was sick as well so he curled up with me and watch Cake Boss.  If I didn't have to teach tomorrow I would probably not even go to church.  Depending on how tomorrow goes I may send Lee solo. We will see.  I just found out that our taxes were denied.  Either because I type in my kids social wrong or my w-2 was wrong. I thought I was half done with the chapter two which is due on Friday.  Turns out the professor wants 20 pages.  Which means Monday, Wednesday I will be in the computer lab.  I am thinking that when everybody is asleep I will be doing some homework in the business center at the hotel.   I have the information I just need to get into the paper.  It is a rough draft that if I can get written in the format it should be then I should be able to at least get a passing grade out of it.   Now that I am I home on Saturdays then the house is getting...

Lee and I are in Washington visiting friends. We have really great friends.  Last night we went out to dinner and a movie with just the adults.  Great time.  I think the only time we ever go out with another couple is when we come up here.  On our way to dinner I got some bad news regarding a good friend.  She was in the hospital over the weekend.  This friend has some major major chronic life threatening stuff going on.  She was doing well for a quite a while and then around Thanksgiving it all fell apart.  She still hasn't been able to get back to where she was before Thanksgiving and is now dealing with the fact that she may never be where she was before. I have a three day weekend well actually four.  Although I may go into tomorrow to make some hours as well as working on some school things.  I sometimes forget just how blessed I am. I am getting paid to sit here on my laptop and watch my children play games.  Life is good. ...

The charter school I wanted Jake in had their lottery earlier this week.  We are still waiting to hear the results. If he gets in then our family vacation is cancelled.  Jake will start school the same day we were planning on flying to Texas on our way to Mexico.  However, our school district is planning on cutting teachers as well as freezing saleries.  Part of me feels bad about the cuts.  The other part me thinks that is what I have been dealing with for almost two years.  We have had nearly three weeks of furlough hours over the past year.  Health and Welfare lost over 120 people a few weeks ago. Plus our last raise was years ago. My guesss is that they really won't be firing 26 teachers they just won't be replacing the ones that retire or quit although that is just my guess.  I know of other ways that I think they could cut but of course they never ask me.  :) Lee's brother and wife and three kids are coming to visit next wee...

Here is what we have been up to for the past couple of weekends,  Jake had his first soccer game.  Shawn came to visit.  Lee got a new RC truck that he loves and so do the kids.  They spend the weekend chasing the truck which totally wore them out.  We did some gardening.  Victoria and I went to Weiser to a baptism of one of my previous foster kids.  It was so great to see the family again.  I really miss seeing them on a monthly basis.  We played newspaper tag with Shawn and Demitri. Grandma Gina and Grandpa Don stopped by for a little while on their way home.  Oh yea and the primary had a bug day where the kids dressed up like bugs.  Victoria was a butterfly and Jake was a bee.  I  have four more days left of the semester.  Lee is in Kamiah this week to spend some time with Shawn before basic as well as some other things.
