Secrets....

So my random post for this evening is about secrets.  I am not sure why people feel the need to tell me things that I then can't tell anybody else although they will all find out eventually.  At work last year I found out some information that I wasn't able to pass along because of my job.  People that I thought I knew turns out I didn't. Although the information became public record I doubt most people know what happened but the stress of not being able to say anything when people talked was incredible. Back to the secret that somebody told me a while back although I know that after a while everybody will find out the secret and I will then not feel so overwhelmed that I might slip and say something that I shouldn't have said.  The funny thing is I am not even sure why this person thinks this needs to be a secret but they do and I respect that.  There are other things that I know that will probably never come to light and nor do they need to.
I have kept my fair share of secrets.  There are many things that we have done in our marriage that people have guessed were out of selfishness or that we being prideful but the truth is so much more then that.  People never asked and I never told.  But I realized recently that people were judging us with out knowing the whole truth or even bothering to find out. I guess the whole point of all this randomness is that be careful what you tell people because that person will have to carry the burden of your secret.  Also don't assume that people are doing something for the wrong reasons.

  1. I am not a good secret keeper. That's a lot of pressure to trust someone not to say anything. Especially if it's a really exciting secret! I think it's human nature to want to tell someone else. You could always tell someone outside of the circle, like your mom maybe? That way you get it off your chest but no one will find out you told! Good luck Nat ;)

  2. I think my mom already knows. It really isn't my secret to tell and it isn't exciting. I don't know why it is a big deal but I think it will be to other family members.

Random Thoughts

I sometimes wonder where to draw the line in this whole blogging thing.  I could make us look like the "perfect" family or I could deal with all of our disappointment and make everybody think that we quite possible have the worse life ever.  Or maybe there is a middle ground somewhere that I have yet to find in this blog.  Today was a rough day.  Don't get me wrong I am so excited that everybody around me is having babies.  But for some reason today I was caught up in the losses all over again.  I am wondering when it stops.  Maybe it never does.  Maybe it will be a life time of wondering what if I would have gone full term.  Several people have asked when (or if) we are going to have another baby.  I am not sure.  Sometimes that answer is yes and sometimes it is no.  But one thing is for certain it isn't right now.  Really I don't need to have a ton of kids to fill some void.  I love my two kids and if that is all ...

February

February was a tough month both mentally and financially.  The light at the tunnel was Phoenix.  Kids had a blast and it was great way to end an otherwise crazy chaotic month.  My goals were blah.  We paid off  more credit card debt then I though but I didn't sew as much as I wanted and I didn't run as much as I should have.  I also didn't read or declutter as much as I planned to.   Although I did reach my goal for losing weight.  So not a total loss. At some point I will file taxes and write a check to the state of Idaho.  I keep putting it off for several reasons.  At some point we will a check from FSA and our gap insurance.  Although a ten page EOB probably will take a while to get through. I think it was just one thing after another and I never felt like I gained my footing.  Maybe because I worked more.  Which lead to more in savings.  Still not where I want to be.  But better then it coul...

Family News

What a weekend.  I blew out a tire 5 minutes into the trip and then had to switch out vans we hit some snow but nothing major.  The kids had a blast playing with the boys and although the bishop spoke too long at the ceremony the wedding was nice.  The reception was nice and the kids ran around with their cousins and Lee and I were able to catch up with everybody on their lives.  I am glad our kids are older and don't need constant supervision.  Several of Lee's cousins have kids in the 12-24 months age range.  That age is so hard and there was no way they would be able to run around with out adult supervision.  It was nice to get some family news like one cousin is a polygamist and another is getting married very shortly.   Another is traveling the world and another has made their home in the mountains.  One cousin is trying to qualify for the Boston Marathon and another is just trying to survive her husband's major depression.  Sev...
